CanadaTopSlots is a commercial website. We make money when readers sign up at casinos through our links, and that money affects what you see on the site. This page explains exactly how, so you can weigh our lists accordingly. It goes together with our terms and conditions, the disclaimer and the ranking rules on our about page.
How the site earns money
Most casinos reviewed on CanadaTopSlots have affiliate programmes. If you follow one of our links, open an account and deposit, the casino may pay us — either a fixed fee per new player or a percentage of what the casino earns from that player over time, depending on the agreement. These agreements are made with the casinos or with the affiliate networks that manage their programmes. Commission is the site’s only income: there are no subscriptions, no paywall and no charge to readers.
What it costs you
Nothing. Opening an account through our link does not make a deposit larger, a bonus smaller or the wagering stricter. The offer you receive is the casino’s own; where we quote it, we quote the casino’s published terms.
Which links are affiliate links
Buttons marked “Get bonus” or “Visit”, casino logos in our lists and comparison tables, and every link whose address begins with canadatopslots.com/go/ are affiliate links. A /go/ address forwards you to the casino’s tracking link so the casino knows you came from us. Links to iGaming Ontario, the AGCO, AGLC, ConnexOntario, the Responsible Gambling Council and to our own guides are not paid.
Cookies set by casino links
Clicking a /go/ link sets mozbiz_session and XSRF-TOKEN on canadatopslots.com, both expiring after 20 hours. Our pages also set mz_vid, a random browser ID kept for a year, and mz_src, the source of your visit, kept for 30 days. Together they let us count clicks per casino and match them with commission. There are no other cookies; details are in our privacy policy.
How commission affects our lists
We will not pretend that commission plays no part. A casino has to clear our editorial bar before it is listed at all: it must accept Canadian players and have a welcome offer we could confirm for Canada, and if we cannot confirm the offer the casino is left out. Among the casinos that clear that bar, the order also reflects our commercial agreements — we earn commission from some casinos, and that influences which of them appear and where. Ontario-registered casinos are marked as such whatever the commercial arrangement, and their bonuses are not advertised to Ontario players.
What commission does not change
The facts we print about a casino — its licence, the payment methods in its cashier, the bonus figures and wagering in its terms — are taken from the casino and are not adjusted for partners. A casino we have put on our blacklist is not promoted, whatever it would pay.
Before you sign up
Read the casino’s terms yourself, check that it accepts players from your province and confirm the current bonus conditions on its site. Online gambling is for adults: 19+ in most of Canada, 18+ in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec.
If you would rather not use an affiliate link, you can type the casino’s address into your browser yourself. Our review stays the same either way, and we never pay or reward readers for signing up. If gambling is costing you more than you planned, ConnexOntario offers free, confidential help around the clock on 1-866-531-2600.
Changes
When the way we are paid changes, we update this page. The date at the top shows the current version.
