Instadebit, a Canadian bank-linked payment service, has closed. The last day to deposit was February 27, 2026, and users could withdraw their remaining balance until April 30, 2026.
The closure timeline
The closure process spanned several months. On February 27, 2026, Instadebit stopped accepting deposits, so no new money could flow into the service after that date.
Users then had a window to withdraw their available balance, which lasted until April 30, 2026. According to the Instadebit website, any balance left behind is sent automatically to the linked bank account after 28 days of inactivity, so money was not simply lost when the service wound down.
What Instadebit did
Instadebit worked as a direct bank-linked payment method. It moved money directly from a Canadian bank account to online services, including online casinos, and acted as a bridge between a local bank account and those sites.
That is why many casino cashier pages still list it. If you see Instadebit on a payment page today, treat it as out of date: the service no longer takes deposits.
What to use instead
As Instadebit wound down, it pointed users to Interac as the alternative payment option. Interac e-Transfer is a bank-to-bank transfer that usually arrives within 30 minutes, and it works with almost every Canadian bank and credit union.
If you still had money with Instadebit, check the bank account that was linked to it before contacting anyone: the automatic return of inactive balances means the funds are most likely already there. Keep any old confirmation e-mails in case you need to trace a payment.
