Flexepin is a prepaid voucher that lets you pay online by entering a code instead of card or bank details. In Canada it is sold online through TopMeUp, in person at Canada Post and at authorised retailers.
What Flexepin is and where to buy it
Flexepin is operated by Novatti Group Ltd, a company listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX). You buy a voucher, then enter its code on any site that accepts Flexepin as a payment method.
In Canada, vouchers are sold through three channels:
- TopMeUp, an online service where Canadians can buy vouchers.
- Canada Post, in person.
- Authorised retail outlets, which you can find with the Flexepin store locator.
Limits and fees
In-person purchases in Canada range from $10 to $500 per voucher, with a limit of $2,500 per 24 hours.
A convenience fee is added at purchase. It ranges from $1.95 on a $20 voucher to $15.95 on a $500 voucher, so smaller vouchers cost proportionally more. If you plan several deposits, one larger voucher is usually cheaper than several small ones.
Because Flexepin is a prepaid code, it works for deposits only. Withdrawals from an online account need another method, such as a bank transfer, so check what the site offers before you deposit.
Expiry and refunds
Each voucher has a Use By Date printed with it, and monthly charges apply after that date. Use the voucher before then, or the balance starts to shrink.
A refund of an unused voucher can be requested up to one year after the Use By Date, using Flexepin's refund form; fees apply. Vouchers cannot be cashed out, so treat a Flexepin purchase as money committed to online spending.
Keep the voucher or receipt until the full amount is used: the code is the only proof of the balance.
Gambling is for adults (19+ in most provinces, 18+ in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec) and costs money; free, confidential help is available from ConnexOntario on 1-866-531-2600 or your provincial helpline.
