How to play Baccarat?
Super easy, as the goal in the game is to get as close to the total sum of nine (9) as possible. As this is a bit of a different game, where the dealer or Croupier does everything, You just have to choose who wins or will it be a tie? On a Land-based Casino you will have a score card to help you keep on track of how the game is going. But you really do not need it..
What are the Card values?
The cards 2 through 9 have their own value always.
10, Jack, Queen and the King have the value of 0
The Ace card has a value of 1.
There is something to remember always and that is that when the 2 cards you have been dealt add up to more then 9, the first number will be dropped and you will be left with the value. So if you have a 9 & 7 that is 16, as the first number is dropped, you have then 6. This is a good card to have, as you are really close to 9.
This makes the game a lot easier for new players and also for the older ones if you know what we mean. Also makes the game very straight forward, with no real rule differentiation.
Here are some more rules to help you ace a baccarat game:
- If either the player or banker is dealt a total of eight or nine, both the player and banker stand.
- If the player’s total is five or fewer, then the player will receive another card. Otherwise, the player will stand.
- If the player stands, then the banker hits on a total of 5 or less.
- The final betting option, a tie, pays out 8-to-1. Conveniently, there are also sheets at the table for you to keep track of your score.
How to will you win?
The Casino pays one to one with Player hands and on House wins, the Casino or the house takes 5%. So this is very easy, if you bet 50€ on the Player to win and the player wins, you will be paid your 50€ bet and then the win of 50€, so in total you will get 100€. If you are betting on the Croupier or House to win, then you will be paid 95% of your bet and the rest will go to the Casino. A Tie pays 8 to 1, yes that is the best paying had, but it is also not so common, the reason why it pays so well.
Bet | Winner | Payout |
---|---|---|
20€ | Player | 40€ |
20€ | House | 38€ |
20€ | Tie | 180€ |

The history of Baccarat
Baccarat or Baccara is a card game played at Land-based Casinos and these days on Online Casinos. It is all about comparing card game played between two hands, the “player” and the “banker“. Each baccarat coup (round of play) has three possible outcomes: “player” (player has the higher score), “banker“, and “tie“. There are three popular variants of the game: punto banco “North American baccarat”, baccarat chemin de fer or “chemmy”, and baccarat banque or à deux tableaux. In punto banco, each player’s moves are forced by the cards the player is dealt. In baccarat chemin de fer and baccarat banque, by contrast, both players can make choices.
The winning odds are in favor of the bank, with a house edge no lower than around 1 percent.
The origins of the game are disputed, and some sources claim that it dates to the 19th century. Other sources claim that the game was introduced into France from Italy at the end of the 15th century by soldiers returning from the Franco-Italian War during the reign of Charles VIII.
We are not sure what is true, but we love the game and we have been asked how to play Baccarat so many times, so we decided to make this short introduction to the game. We hope you liked it and maybe luck be with you!
